About Us

In a world where displacement and refuge crises are escalating, there is a pressing need for an authentic voice that conveys suffering and hope, narratives and challenges, from the heart of tents and refugee camps. "Khyam" is more than just a media platform; it is an open humanitarian space that places the lens and the word in the hands of the real storytellers: refugees, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and migrants.

Khyam was launched from Yemen, a country enduring one of the largest humanitarian crises of our time, to serve as a bridge connecting affected communities with the world. We believe that behind every statistic lies a human story deserving to be told with dignity and professionalism, far from abstract traditional media discourse.

Our Vision: To be the leading platform that reshapes the narrative around displacement and refuge by empowering individuals to become the narrators of their own stories, and contributing to creating a more understanding and empathetic world.

Our Mission: To document and publish the stories of refugees and displaced persons in a compelling way, build the capacity of local journalists in humanitarian coverage, and foster dialogue with decision-makers and humanitarian organizations, ensuring the true narrative reaches everyone who can make a difference.

At "Khyam," every story is an invitation to understand, and every voice is a step towards solidarity.
